Students in Ptolemaida Celebrate Diversity with Sign Language Carols
Students of the 1st Gymnasium in Ptolemaida sent a powerful message of social inclusion by performing traditional carols in sign language. Initiated by two teachers, the project aims to foster empathy and respect for diversity. The school’s director, Melina Sidiropoulou, highlighted the deep emotional significance of the initiative. Student Yiannis Ioannou expressed pride in their accomplishment, noting its impact on the community’s awareness of equality despite differences. The initiative also included support from Evangelos Dimopoulos, who is deaf and helped create teaching materials for the students.
