On Monday, November 11, 2024, 44 students from the Gymnasium Lyceum of Fourni Korseon staged an occupation of their school to protest ongoing shortages of teachers in crucial subjects. They called for the hiring of teachers in Chemistry, Biology, English, Philology, Art, Music, and Physical Education. The students, supported by their municipality and the Parents’ Association, also highlighted issues related to attendance policies for students living on remote islands, where travel for medical care unfairly impacts their attendance records.
