On December 20, 2023, the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia, George Amanatidis, signed a contract for a study titled ‘Static Strength Assessment and Upgrade of the Servia Bridge’. The contract, worth €2,038,622, aims to determine the condition of the bridge and necessary enhancements within 15 months. Safety measures for citizens during potential bridge closures will also be evaluated, along with alternative routes. The contract was signed in the presence of local officials, highlighting the importance of infrastructure safety in the region.
