Study Links Sedentary Behavior to Increased Heart Failure Risk

A recent study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that individuals, even those who exercise regularly, may have an increased risk of heart failure and cardiovascular death due to sitting for ten or more hours a day. Analyzing data from nearly 90,000 participants, researchers discovered that more than 10.6 hours of sedentary behavior was significantly associated with these risks. However, engaging in the recommended levels of physical activity can mitigate some of these dangers, with even short bursts of activity proving beneficial.
