Study Links Taxi and Ambulance Drivers to Lower Alzheimer’s Risk

A new study from Harvard University suggests that taxi and ambulance drivers have a reduced risk of developing and dying from Alzheimer’s disease compared to individuals in other professions. Analyzing nearly nine million U.S. death records, researchers, including Bogdan Draganski from the University of Bern, found a correlation with the hippocampus, a brain region linked to memory and spatial orientation. However, Draganski cautions that the study establishes a statistical relationship but does not conclusively prove that working in these professions directly reduces Alzheimer’s risk.
