A recent study conducted in France highlights the gender disparities in household chores among children aged 10 and 11, showing that girls engage in more domestic tasks than boys. Published by the National Institute of Demographic Studies, the research surveyed over 7,000 children and found that social background influences participation levels. Girls from farming backgrounds perform more chores than those from professional families. Additionally, only children participate less in household tasks compared to those with siblings, and single parents do not assign more chores to their children than partnered parents.
