Study Reveals High Levels of Air Pollution in Dublin’s Inner City Areas

A recent study by University College Dublin and Dublin City University identified ten hotspots in Dublin with hazardous concentrations of nitrogen dioxide and fine particulate matter (PM2.5). Conducted with data from Google’s Air View project, the findings highlight that nearly half of the days exceeded WHO air quality guidelines, particularly during rush hours. Experts warn vulnerable populations about exposure risks and suggest alternatives to reduce pollution exposure, including modifying daily routines and using cleaner heating methods.
