Study Reveals Hijab Reduces Job Interview Chances by Over 80% in France
A recent study from the CNRS, presented by Université Gustave Eiffel, highlights the significant impact of wearing a hijab on job search outcomes in France. The research found that young women who wear a hijab face more than an 80% reduction in chances of securing job interviews compared to their non-veiled counterparts. Conducted by researchers through a testing method, the study involved sending identical resumes to 2,000 Parisian companies, revealing bias based on appearance and cultural background in the hiring process.
