Study Reveals Over Three Million People Engaged in Unreported Work in Germany
A new study shows that more than three million people in Germany are engaged in unreported work, equivalent to 5.4% of the population aged 15 to 74. The Institute of German Economy (IW Köln) highlights that while Germany ranks relatively well internationally, certain other countries have larger shadow economies, notably Greece and Italy. The study’s author calls for political action to lower taxes and fees to combat black work, emphasizing that simply introducing more regulations won’t be effective.
