Cheltenham experienced an unexpected snowfall on Wednesday morning prior to the Queen Mother Champion Chase, scheduled for 4:00 PM. The snow turned to sleet by late morning, with a predicted temperature rise to 7°C as racing begins at 1:20 PM. Clerk of the course Jon Pullin noted overnight precautions against frost were successful, ensuring safe conditions for the day’s events. Despite the chilly forecast, the weather is expected to remain dry for the rest of the day.
