The Swedish Army has confirmed a purchase of tanks from the German arms manufacturer KNDS, amounting to 22 billion Swedish kronor (approximately $1.97 billion). The contract, signed in late December, includes the acquisition of 44 new Leopard 2 A8 tanks and the modernization of 66 existing tanks. Defense Minister Paul Johnson emphasized that this investment is crucial for Sweden’s goal to double its military capabilities.
