Swiss Supreme Court Rules on Compensation for Syrian Refugee Family
The Swiss Supreme Court has partially upheld a complaint from a Syrian refugee family, initially returned from Brig, Switzerland, to Italy in 2014. The court ruled that the husband is entitled to compensation after the Swiss border guards failed to provide medical assistance to his pregnant wife, who suffered in pain before losing her unborn child. While the family sought further compensation related to their asylum process in Italy, this request was denied.
