Swiss Health Minister Elisabeth Baume-Schneider announced plans to save 300 million francs per year in the healthcare system starting in 2026. This initiative, discussed in a recent roundtable with healthcare stakeholders, represents about 1% of premium revenues. The group aims to meet biannually to enhance system efficiency without compromising care quality, focusing on eliminating redundancies. Baume-Schneider emphasized that if consensus is not reached, she would take decisive action either through direct decisions or proposals to the Federal Council.
