Switzerland’s Active Role on the UN Security Council During its Membership

As Switzerland’s membership in the UN Security Council comes to an end, the council’s activity over the past two years has been notable, with around 830 meetings and the adoption of 92 resolutions, including key humanitarian efforts. While the council faced challenges due to vetoes from powerful nations, it remained engaged in crisis management and peacekeeping operations, contrasting sharply with its limited role during the Cold War.
