They argue that the government’s policies are financially straining citizens, stating that the fee increases, some as high as 50%, were implemented without proper consultation with municipalities. Mayors have unanimously rejected these increases, calling it a clear attempt by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to financially strangle local governments.
