On December 2, 2024, ten members of a drug trafficking gang were arrested by the Athens Crime Investigation Division, including eight minors. The gang was reportedly involved in the distribution of narcotics at schools and had planned to supply cannabis to students on a school trip. Authorities discovered significant amounts of drugs, including 908 grams of cannabis and 206 grams of a substance believed to be heroin, as well as various illegal items during their investigation. The arrested individuals have been referred to the appropriate judicial authorities.
