Ten-Year-Old Girl Rescued After Solo Voyage from Tunisia to Lampedusa
A ten-year-old girl was rescued after traveling alone on a small boat, covering a distance of ten miles to Lampedusa. She set off on December 8 from Sfax, Tunisia, and was aided by members of the NGO Trotamar III after the boat she was on sank. The child, believed to be from Sierra Leone, was found clinging to an inflatable buoy and was heard calling for help.
