Greek government sources have criticized the opposition PASOK party’s recent proposal to classify health workers under the hazardous jobs regulation. They questioned the costs of the suggestion, highlighting the need for clarity. In response, PASOK spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas accused the government of misleading the public and failing to act on a long-standing request to include health workers in this category, supported by a 2020 report. He emphasized that healthcare workers are demanding genuine support rather than empty gestures as the public health sector continues to face significant staffing challenges.
