The Premiere of Iakovos Kampanelis’ ‘Epitaphios’ in Thessaloniki
The play ‘Epitaphios’ by Iakovos Kampanelis premieres tonight, December 23, at the Avlaia Theater in Thessaloniki, kicking off a twelve-performance run. Lead actor Michalis Doukakis describes it as a hilarious comedy exploring themes of death, legacy, and vanity, employing satire and self-deprecation. The story revolves around an aging writer who, after attending a fellow author’s funeral, seeks to secure his own posthumous glory by persuading a friend to write their mutual eulogies.
