Thessaloniki Launches Major Housing Initiative for Vulnerable Groups
The Greek Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family is embarking on an ambitious renovation project for 30 public properties in Thessaloniki aimed at providing housing security for vulnerable populations. Funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the initiative involves transforming an unused building and 24 apartments into affordable housing, with rental agreements lasting at least eight years. This project not only addresses the urgent housing needs of individuals with disabilities, low-income families, and students but also aims to enhance energy efficiency. Minister Sofia Zacharakis highlighted the project’s potential social impact, paving the way for meaningful housing solutions.
