Thessaloniki Metro Incident: Passengers Evacuated Amid Power Disruption
Passengers boarded the Thessaloniki Metro normally despite an incident on Saturday when a train was immobilized due to a short circuit. The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Nikos Tachiaos, stated that such power outages are rare and that safety protocols were followed during the evacuation. As a result of the startup phase of the metro, over 600,000 tickets have been issued, and long lines for personalized cards have disappeared as passengers opt for ticket machines.
