Thessaloniki Metro Set to Begin Operations, Enhancing Public Transport
Greek Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, visited a Thessaloniki metro station just days before its official launch. The project, significant for the city, includes modern trains, increased safety systems, and displays of over 300,000 archaeological finds at various stations. The metro is expected to serve approximately 250,000 citizens daily. Staikouras also inspected the new buses added to the OASTH fleet, part of a three-year leasing agreement to modernize public transport.
