Tomiko Itooka, a 116-year-old resident of Ashiya, Japan, has passed away. She was recognized as the oldest living person after the death of Maria Branyas Morera in August 2024. Born on May 23, 1908, in Osaka, Itooka had four children and five grandchildren. The mayor of Ashiya, Ryosuke Takashima, praised her for the courage and hope she inspired throughout her life.
