Top Chef’s 2,500 Pies Ruined After Theft of Refrigerated Van
Tommy Banks, a Michelin-starred chef, faced a significant loss when his refrigerated van, containing 2,500 pies valued at £25,000, was stolen. Although the van was recovered in Middlesbrough, it was badly damaged, and the pies were deemed a write-off. Banks expressed regret over the waste of food and emphasized the effort involved in making the pies. North Yorkshire Police confirmed an investigation into the theft, which unfortunately left Banks without his weekly stock just before the York Christmas Market.
