Tottenham Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur Receives Seven-Match Ban for Racial Slur Incident
Rodrigo Bentancur, midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, has been banned for seven domestic matches and fined £100,000 by the Football Association for using a racial slur regarding team-mate Son Heung-min. The incident arose from comments made during a television appearance in Uruguay. Bentancur, who denied the charge, will miss key matches including those against Manchester City and Chelsea. He is, however, still eligible to play in the Europa League. The FA stated the sanctions were based on a finding by an independent regulatory commission.
