A ground subsidence incident near the junction of the Ioannina-Arta National Road and Egnatia in the Pedini area has led to the closure of one traffic lane. Authorities have marked the area and advised drivers to reduce their speeds. Epirus Regional Governor Alexandros Kahrimanis attributed the issue partly to recent flood prevention measures related to Egnatia’s construction. A geotechnical investigation is expected to clarify the situation, as the crack in the roadway has widened, necessitating immediate action.
