Tragic Toll: Indonesia’s Volcano Eruption Claims Lives
A volcanic eruption on Indonesia’s Flores Island has resulted in at least ten fatalities. The Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano erupted, sending smoke and ash two kilometers into the air. Nearby residents were evacuated, and an airport was closed. Panic ensued as power outages and torrential rain followed the eruption, leading to the destruction of homes and infrastructure. A local monastery was also impacted, with reports of a nun among the casualties. This marks Indonesia’s second volcanic eruption in just two weeks, following an earlier incident at Mount Marapi.
