Trial Delayed for Suspect in Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump

A U.S. judge has postponed the trial of Ryan Routh, accused of attempting to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump, until September 2025. The decision came after Routh’s lawyers requested a delay due to the extensive evidence involved in the case. Judge Aileen Cannon, who previously handled a related case against Trump, deemed the request for a December 2025 postponement excessive. Routh faces five federal charges and has pleaded not guilty.
