Tribute to Antonis Alexandris: Last Survivor of WWII Bonds
Antonis Alexandris, a poignant symbol of resilience from World War II, passed away at the age of 102. Known as ‘Prisoner 8425,’ Alexandris survived multiple concentration camps during the war and participated actively in commemorative parades until recent years. Born in 1922 in Northern Lesbos, he reflected on his long life and sacrifices for his country. In his last public appearance in 2019, he expressed hope that younger generations would carry forward the legacy of wartime remembrance, ensuring peace for the souls of fallen victims and veterans.
