The Association of Greek Industries has expressed deep condolences for Giannis Boutaris, the celebrated figure in Greek wine and business. Known for transforming Greece’s wine industry, he served as president of the Greek Wine Association and played a key role in promoting Greece as a wine tourism destination. Boutaris, affectionately called ‘Kir- Giannis,’ had a profound impact on both local governance in Thessaloniki and environmental protection efforts. The association plans to attend his funeral and donate to ‘Arktouros,’ the environmental organization he founded, honoring his legacy of cultural richness and innovation.
