The Municipality of Trikala has been included in the European Union’s initiative for 100 Climate Neutral Cities. On December 12, 2024, Mayor Nikos Sakkas met with George Ioulianos, an economic advisor from the Climate City Capital Hub, to discuss funding solutions for various projects. Trikala is among six Greek cities participating in this initiative aimed at reducing environmental impact, and one of 55 cities in the EU certified for their efforts.
