Turkey Secures Eurofighter Typhoons Amidst Positive NATO Relations
Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler announced the acquisition of 40 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets, facilitated by Germany’s change of stance with support from fellow NATO allies including the UK, Italy, and Spain. Güler also expressed optimism regarding the procurement of 40 F-16 Viper jets from the United States, highlighting strong ties with Washington. Discussing Greek-Turkish relations, he noted an improved rapport and ongoing dialogue between leaders. On Cyprus, Güler reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to a two-state solution, while criticizing the actions of the Republic of Cyprus amidst ongoing conflicts in Gaza.
