The Turkish-supported Syrian National Army (SNA) has initiated an operation to seize the Kurdish-controlled enclave of Tal Rifaat. The SNA reportedly disrupted attempts by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to establish a foothold between Tal Rifaat and the autonomous Kurdish region of Manbij. The operation, named ‘Dawn of Freedom,’ has resulted in the SNA taking control of the Kweiris military airport and cutting off supply lines from Manbij. Turkey continues to associate Kurdish groups in northern Syria with terrorism and seeks the cessation of U.S. support for them.
