Turkish Pro-Kurdish Party Delegation to Visit Imprisoned PKK Founder Abdullah Öcalan
A delegation from the pro-Kurdish Turkish party DEM is set to visit Abdullah Öcalan, the founder of the PKK, who has been imprisoned on an island near Istanbul for 25 years. This marks the first visit by the party in nearly a decade and follows an invitation from the leader of the nationalist MHP party for Öcalan to address Parliament regarding the PKK. The PKK is labeled a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., EU, and the UK.
