Twin sisters Jean Satterley and Jan Cornell have reunited almost 50 years after playing hockey for Wales, winning silver medals at the Masters Hockey World Cup in Auckland. Competing with Wales’ over-65 team, the sisters reflected on their journey since first representing Wales as schoolgirls in 1977. They faced teams from 23 countries, ultimately losing to England in the final. Satterley expressed the emotional significance of their shared experience, while also highlighting challenges faced by female athletes regarding recognition and support.
