Two employees of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization (OASTH) have been sentenced to three months in prison, suspended, for taking sick leaves by submitting false medical certificates. The court found them guilty of moral complicity in false medical certification after examining their case in a higher court. The fraud, involving claimed illnesses like gastroenteritis and flu, was uncovered following a transparency investigation prompted by complaints about fake sick leaves among employees. The convicted employees plan to appeal to the Supreme Court.
