Typhoo Tea Faces Administration Amid Declining Sales and Rising Debts

Typhoo Tea, the historic UK brand founded in 1903, is on the verge of administration as it grapples with dwindling sales and escalating losses. Chief Executive Dave McNulty announced that the company has filed a court notice to appoint administrators, allowing them time to explore recovery options. Typhoo’s losses ballooned to £38 million, a stark increase from £9.6 million, while sales plummeted from £33.7 million to £25.3 million. The firm’s struggles were exacerbated by damages from trespassers at its former factory last year.
