In a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan addressed Middle Eastern developments and the need for a peaceful, inclusive transition of power in Syria. Blinken reiterated U.S. support for a representative Syrian government and highlighted the importance of protecting Syrian citizens’ rights. The two officials also discussed the ongoing efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza and the humanitarian assistance needed in Syria, as well as the support for legitimate security institutions in Lebanon.
