U.S. Lifts Restrictions on ATACMS Missile Use in Ukraine Amid North Korean Troop Movements
The U.S. Pentagon has sent ATACMS missile systems to Ukraine after President Joe Biden approved the shipment earlier this year, initially restricting their use to Ukrainian territory. However, due to recent North Korean troop deployments supporting Russia, those restrictions have now been lifted. The ATACMS, produced by Lockheed Martin, are known for their long range and mobility. In addition to missiles, Ukraine has requested F-16 fighter jets and Western tanks like the British Challenger 2 and German Leopard 2 to enhance their strike capabilities against Russian targets.
