UK Anti-Vaccine Ringleader Sentenced to Five Years for Inciting Violence
A 55-year-old anti-vaccine campaigner, Patrick Ruani, has been sentenced to five years in prison in London for promoting terrorism through violent messages during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ruani was found guilty for inciting violence against chief medical advisor Chris Whitty and expressing regret over not having harmed the AstraZeneca vaccine creator. The judge described Ruani’s statements as ‘extremely dangerous’ during a turbulent time, urging that while individuals have a right to express opinions, Ruani’s actions crossed legal boundaries.
