Ukrainian Soldiers Find Refuge and Healing in Mount Athos
A group of 22 Ukrainian soldiers embarked on a journey to Mount Athos in Greece, traveling over 1,000 kilometers from Lviv. This visit serves as part of a psychological support program initiated by Ukrainian authorities. The soldiers, many suffering from the profound impacts of war, expect the retreat to facilitate their recovery more effectively than a year in medical facilities. Accompanied by Orthodox priest Mykhailo Pasirskyi, the soldiers found solace in the monasteries overlooking the Aegean Sea, with individuals like Ivan Kovalyk expressing relief from anxiety through this experience.
