UN Peacekeepers Injured in South Lebanon Amid Ongoing Violence
A UN convoy was attacked in southern Lebanon, injuring four Italian peacekeepers from the UNIFIL mission. The rockets are suspected to have been fired by Hezbollah or an affiliated group, marking the third attack on the base in a week. Meanwhile, escalating clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces have led to the deaths of at least five local aid workers. Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned the attacks as ‘unacceptable’. The World Health Organization reports that around 230 aid workers have died since the conflict escalated in October 2023.
