The family of Private Seán Rooney will soon receive information regarding his death while serving with the UN peacekeeping force in Southern Lebanon. Rooney was killed in December 2022 during an attack in Al-Aqbiya. The UN had previously withheld details from the family despite requests for information related to an inquest. A spokesman for the UN Secretary General announced that while the Board of Inquiry report remains an internal document, some information would be shared with relevant parties soon.
