At the ongoing COP29 climate summit in Azerbaijan, UN Women criticized the lack of gender representation among world leaders. Of the 78 leaders present, only six addressed the effects of climate change on women, with four of them being women themselves. UN Women emphasized the urgent need for equal representation of women in decision-making roles regarding climate action, stressing that their voices are crucial in tackling climate-related challenges.
