Underground Tunnels of Hagia Sophia to Become Accessible

The Turkish Ministry of Culture has announced a cleaning program for the underground tunnels and catacombs of Hagia Sophia, making them accessible to the public within a year. Professor Hasan Firat Diker notes that these structures could extend for a kilometer and include various historical features. The findings from these areas, once properly sorted by archaeologists, are expected to shed light on the history of Istanbul.
