UNICEF Calls for $9.9 Billion to Aid Millions of Children in Crisis
UNICEF has launched a fundraising campaign seeking $9.9 billion to assist millions of children affected by war and crises worldwide by 2025. The organization’s chief, Catherine Russell, warns that humanitarian needs among children have reached a historic level, with an estimated 213 million children in 146 countries requiring support. Due to ongoing funding crises, the current appeal will only address part of the needs, potentially helping 109 million children. Additionally, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) seeks $1.4 billion to aid women and girls in 57 countries.
