UNICEF Reports Devastating Impact of Global Conflicts on Children in 2024
UNICEF has released a grim report highlighting that an unprecedented 473 million children are affected by wars and conflicts worldwide. This marks the highest number since World War II, with nearly 19% of children living in conflict zones. The report underscores the dire situation, as children face school closures, malnutrition, and displacement. UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that 2024 was among the worst years for children in conflict, stressing the need to prevent a generation from becoming collateral damage in ongoing wars.
