UNICEF Reports Highest Level of Violence Against Children in War Zones
According to UNICEF’s latest report, over 460 million children, or one in six worldwide, are growing up in conflict zones, facing life-threatening violence, hunger, and disease. The report highlights a record of 32,990 verified grave violations of children’s rights in 2023, particularly in regions like Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan. UNICEF urges compliance with international humanitarian law and increased aid, forecasting that the situation may worsen in 2024, with the impacts on children’s mental health remaining largely unquantified.
