United Kingdom Announces £50 Million Aid Package for Vulnerable Syrians
The British government has announced a £50 million aid package to support the most vulnerable Syrians in Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. Foreign Secretary David Lammy emphasized the opportunity for the Syrian people following the fall of the Assad regime and reiterated commitment to humanitarian assistance. The funds will enhance urgent humanitarian aid and restore essential services. Additionally, £120,000 will be directed to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to aid in eliminating chemical weapons in the country.
