University of Patras Students Win Gold Medal in International Synthetic Biology Competition
A group of students from the University of Patras, led by Pharmacology student Athina Latsi, has won a gold medal at the International Synthetic Biology competition. Their project focuses on innovative treatments for HER2+ breast cancer, utilizing RNA molecules for gene silencing. With over 438 teams competing globally, the team also gained nomination for the best website award. As they advance to preclinical studies, they aim to combat cancer resistance in therapy, showcasing the capabilities and dedication of young scholars in the field.
